Important questions project

I think that identifying important questions is really important for any scientific venture. I think it is also pretty difficult, since most good questions require some sort of inspiration. Luckily, the internet makes collaborative brainstorming much more feasible.

So, I'd like to start an ongoing discussion dedicated to important questions in biology. This will be an interactive blog exercise!

For it to work, just enter a question topic into the form below and send it off... The response will be stored in a spreadsheet which I will check periodically. You can come back and enter topics/questions as often as you'd like.

There are only two rules:
1. It must be a question that can be answered scientifically.
2. It must be somehow related to biology.

I'll work with the responses, do some visualization, and we'll start seeing what people think are important topics in biology. Thanks (and hooray for interactive research)!
